Donald Foster, along with his wife, Debbie, started Foster Well & Pump Company out of their home in 1984. With a cable tool drill and one employee, Donnie would drill during the day and complete office work at night. By 1988, they upgraded their drilling equipment to air rotary machines, hired employees to keep two machines operational while Debbie and the office assistant, Debbie Cowles, worked in the office full time.
Drilling and Installation
In 1990, the company expanded services to include submersible pump installation and service along with drilling. The expansion made it necessary for more employees, more equipment, and a new office with a warehouse facility in Charlottesville. Foster Well & Pump Company has maintained operations in Charlottesville (1984 - current), Saltville (1991 - 1999), and most recently Elkton (2000 - 2017), Virginia.
Upon graduating college in 2001 and 2003 respectively, their children, Shane and Jordan, joined their parents and started learning about the family business. Currently, Shane manages the day-to-day field operations and Jordan manages the day-to-day office operations. In 2018, Shane and Jordan took ownership in the business, however, both Donnie and Debbie are extremely active in the overall management of the business.
Foster Well & Pump Company has grown to offer a full line of water well services throughout Central Virginia! They currently employ 15 to 20 people. The Foster Family along with their employees is devoted to making their company the best it can be and provide the services necessary to meet the demands of their customers.
They have always said their customers are their greatest assets and that they are dedicated to serving all of their customers needs. Their company prides itself on its service and quality of work and strives to achieve the highest of standards. They look forward to taking care of all your water needs.
This is the standard that has been maintained by the Fosters for the past 35 years and will continue for generations to come.
